Outlook for Windows (Classic)

This method schedules a single email to be sent at a future date and time. [1, 2]

  1. Click New Email and compose your message.
  2. Click the Options tab at the top of the message window.
  3. Click the Delay Delivery button (in the More Options group).
  4. Under Delivery options, check the box for Do not deliver before.
  5. Select your desired date and time in the boxes next to it.
  6. Click Close.
  7. Click Send. The email will wait in your Outbox folder until the scheduled time.
    Note: Your Outlook app must remain open and connected to the internet at the scheduled time for the email to send. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

New Outlook for Windows and Outlook on the Web

This method saves the scheduled email to the cloud, so it will send even if your computer is turned off. [1, 2]

  1. Click New mail and write your email.
  2. Click the down arrow right next to the Send button at the bottom or top of the window.
  3. Select Schedule send.
  4. Choose one of the preset times, or click Custom time to choose your own date and hour.
  5. Click Send (or Save). The email will sit in your Drafts folder with a clock icon until it triggers. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Outlook for Mac

  1. Click New Message and write your email.
  2. Click the down arrow next to the Send button at the top.
  3. Select Send Later.
  4. Enter the specific date and time you want the email to go out.
