Convert PDF to Word Using Microsoft Word

Microsoft Word can open and convert many PDFs.

  1. Open Microsoft Word.
  2. Click FileOpen.
  3. Browse and select the PDF you want to convert.
  4. Word will show a message saying it will convert the PDF—click OK.
  5. The PDF opens in Word as an editable document.
  6. Save it as a .docx file.

Important: This works best for text-based PDFs, not scanned images.
